From plan set to findings, every value tied to its sheet.
Bolteniq is software your engineers use. It reads the drainage tables in a City of Austin site-plan set, shows each value next to the sheet it came from, and runs two dozen checks against the DCM, ECM and LDC. You confirm each value.
How a plan set moves through it
The plan set
One Austin site-plan set, as a PDF. In the pilot, we do this step for you.
Reads the tables
Finds the drainage tables on the sheets and reads their values.
Confirms the values
Each value beside its sheet. Confirm it or correct it.
Two dozen checks
Recomputes, cross-checks and tests limits against the DCM, ECM and LDC.
The pre-check
A pre-check report (PDF) and the calc tables (xlsx or PDF).
What it reads
The drainage tables on the sheets, each value shown next to the sheet it came from.
- Drainage areas
- Time of concentration (Tc)
- Rational and peak flows
- Detention ponds
- Water-quality form R-3
- R-6
- R-11
- Pipes
- Inlets
What it checks
Two dozen checks against the City of Austin DCM, ECM and LDC. It lists what a City reviewer is likely to flag, each with its citation.
Recomputes
- Tc segments
- Composite CN
- Stage-storage
- Outlet discharge
- Pipe flow
- WQ volume
- Sedimentation and filtration
- Drawdown orifice
- Rain garden
- WQ freeboard
Consistency
- The same quantity printed two ways
- Impervious cover counted twice
- WQ impervious cover against the built impervious cover
- Units that do not match
Limits
- Sheet flow over 100 ft
- P2 from the wrong rainfall zone
- Impervious cover limit
- Splitter head over the maximum
- Riprap stone class
What you get
A pre-check report (PDF) and the calc tables (xlsx or PDF). On screen, the findings are sorted by what needs a decision.
- Decide before sealing: what your PE needs to settle before the set is sealed. Each finding names the sheet, the place on the sheet and the printed value.
- Notes: values that differ, but conservatively or only in the last digits.
- Checks with nothing to report, listed at the bottom so you can see what was looked at.
It takes the re-typing of tables into spreadsheets off your engineers and catches arithmetic and consistency errors before the City does.
What it does not do
- It does not design anything.
- Austin only, for now.
See what it flags on one of your plans
Request a pilot run and we pull one of your recent approved Austin site plans from AB+C, run it, and send you what it flags, next to the comments the City made on that plan. You don't need to send anything.
